Joe Berry aka "JB"
Choreographer/Dance Educator/Artist /Entertainer
This Wiesbaden, Germany born native has positioned himself for the career of a lifetime. From Dancing to Singing to Choreography to Acting, Joe Berry's career spans more than thirty (30) years. Joe started taking ballet at age four (4) in Wiesbaden, Germany and has
studied across the globe from Spain to Los Angeles, New York, St. Louis, Nashville, Miami, Tampa, Denver, Mexico City, New Jersey, Dallas, San Antonio, Fort Worth, Orlando, Tulsa, Atlanta, New Orleans, & Chicago. Mr. Berry is now a highly requested Dance Technician for multiple Competition Dance Studios around the country and is the Technique and Contemporary Instructor for several Dance Convention Tours.
Mr. Berry can add to his credit of having several of his former students compete as contestants on “So You Think You Can Dance”. Along with television, former students have toured with Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, and Britney Spears. Always finding time to stay in class himself, Mr. Berry has studied under great choreographers such as Sonya Tayeh; choreographer for “So You Think You Can Dance”.
After 25 years in the industry, JB has worked with such recording artist as MC Breed, Liza Minnelli, Phyllis Hyman, Billie Preston, Grace Jones, Bell Biv DeVoe, Boyz II Men, Don Diego, Benita Arterberry and touring with Ice Cube, Chubb Rock and Hi-Five, to just name a few. In the late 90’s, Joe Berry was one of the first choreographers for the nationally recognized, Dallas Mavs Dancers. From 2001-2004 Joe was resident choreographer and Asst. Director for Tarrant County College, in which he staged, choreographed, and produced productions such as The Wiz and Once On This Island;
which were received with rave reviews from Theatre critics, proclaiming his choreography as "First Rate Broadway". Joe Berry’s television, film, stage, and radio credits are endless: Chuck E. Cheese, Fox Television, Seven-Eleven, MTV, Buena Vision, Serving Sara, The Rookie, The Wash, & Texas Lottery, Guys & Dolls, Biloxi Blues, A Chorus Line, and Morning Show Radio Personality on the Tom Joyner Morning Show. Which aired Service Broadcasting K-104fm, the #1 Urban radio station in Dallas. In the following years, Joe worked on the executive side of the entertainment industry, in the Promotion offices of BMG Entertainment. Artista Records, Badboy Records, JIVE Records, J Records, RCA NAshville and RCA Urban Records were the labels of the artist he was responsible for working Radio Promotions and special appearances in the Dallas Market. To this day, Joe still consults with new up and coming artists, trying to get their break in the industry. Presently Joe does Recording Artist Management for the past 5 years. Just recently, Joe has a development deal to help create new reality TV content for one of the hottest Entertainment companies in the country.
After signing an exclusive contract with Starbound National Talent Competition as an Elite Judge, many doors have opened for Mr. Berry. Appearing on Season 6, 7, and 8 of the hit Reality TV show “Dance Mom’s” and Season 4 of the New Break-out Reality TV show “Bring It”. Going back to film, Mr. Berry makes a cameo in the iconic LGBT trilogy “Bear City 3”. Returning back to Live Stage performances, Mr. Berry is the choreographer for the MTV’s Wild n Out Live Tour, staring Nick Cannon. Joe Berry is presently in negotiations with producers, for a reality TV show of his own.
